that should be no Problem,
I have done some Quality and troubleshooting dashboards for CDR / CMR with Splunk.

I would start with a search. Do you have the data in fields?

Hello everyone,

does someone know if it is possible to create a billing report for our internal and external telephony using Splunk?
We use the Cisco Callmanager and configured the Splunk host as an external billing server so the CDR and CMR files can be indexed.

Thanks in advance, best regards
Timo

Hello Timo,

you can see in the CDR's incoming, outgoing and internal Calls and ther duration.
So it should be not to hard to make a Billing report with Splunk.

Maybe you could give some more information an what you want?
Should it be like 1 Minute costs x Cents and thats it or should it be more flexible with different rates?

Hello PPape,

thanks for your answer!
So it is possible 🙂
Now I have to figure out how.

You are right. It should be like:

Calling Number - Called Number - Date - Time - Duration - Cost
55513 55520 05/19/2015 2:17pm 50 0.02

I'm new to Splunk... Can you give me a clue where I have to start with? Pivot? Reports?

Good to hear 🙂
I have the CDR/CMR files indexed but that's all. My Search looks like this:

http://fs1.directupload.net/images/150519/vb95pq9g.png

Which fields should I create?

Take a look at:
here

Delimiter und Fields is interesting for you.
Than you have a field called duration 😉
