Does editing splunk-launch.conf file require a special access?

Hi,

I am not able to edit splunk-launch.conf file as my regular user. Does editing this file require special access?

I want to set up the SPLUNK_DB path in this file, and when I try to save the file it says access denied.

You need to have write access to the file, so you probably need to do this as the user that runs splunk, or as root.
