I have a file in a web server. The file can be opened in browser using link http://www.abcde.com/sample.txt. I just want to index this file in to splunk. Could someone help me out with some script on the same.

install a splunk universal forwarder on your web server

setup inputs.conf monitor input with the path to that file. See examples in http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.0.0/Admin/Inputsconf

setup outputs.conf to point the forwarder to your indexers. See examples in outputs.conf
https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.0.0/Admin/Outputsconf

enable the input on your indexer (port 9997 by default)
