topic Can I authenticate users on the REST API using SSO? in Getting Data In

I am using ProxySSO to authenticate users on splunkweb with an apache frontend, I tried to do the same for the management access (port 8089 by default) but it doesn't seem to work (always get a 401 answer).

Is there a way I can use SSO for my scripts without having to parse splunkweb output?

The api doesn't authenticate via 443 which is where the SAML would live. The API uses 8089 would just need local user auth.
