Hi All,

I am new to this area. Suppose my business is running on a Linux server and I want to know any errors occurred or suppose if the server is restarted, can I put this server as a source and monitor the performance? Please clarify for me. I just want to know what actually is the source here.

You may want to consider using this app

That should be possible, do you have any more detail you can provide? Do you just want to monitor the source of the data, or do you want to monitor only after an event has occurred? Splunk should be pulling the host and source information automatically, and you can search by say source=(name of source) or host=(name of host)
