Nope, it would not work. We did get authentication with MD5 or SHA working. But not any sorts of encryption.

Hi,

I have spent a large amount of time trying to configure SNMP V3 with Splunk Enterprise. I cannot get SNMP V3 to work using SNMP Modular Input with our Splunk Setup.

I have managed to get SNMP V3 data from our network using 3rd party applications with get requests on the same server. So, the issue is with my Splunk configuration.

Is anybody able to help?
Is Windows Server or a Linux server recommended?
Are there any apps/dependencies for such an activity?
Is net-snmp required?

I have all the MIBs etc configured - the issue is currently with the Splunk configuration.

Massive thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
A novice Splunk user.
