      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have added a folder to read CSV files through data input &amp;gt;files and directory option.&lt;BR /&gt;
It seems that when I add a new file it needs splunk instance to restart to take up that file.&lt;BR /&gt;
Can we configure splunk to read the file automatically when new file is placed into folder.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Set host              :Constant Value&lt;BR /&gt;
Source type           :csv&lt;BR /&gt;
Set the destination index :default&lt;BR /&gt;
Number of files       :6&lt;BR /&gt;
App                   :launcher&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;In that case something else is going on in your setup. Splunk does not require a restart to pick up new files.
