Hi,

I would like to create a role user to make API calls, and I would prefer to do this by creating a local Splunk account. We currently have LDAP authentication enabled, and as a result, I log into the web interface with the local user, but, not make external API calls. External API calls work just fine with and LDAP user though.

Is there a way to fix this?

I believe you can create a local splunk admin account for this purpose. In your User - Authentication settings you can opt to have BOTH local splunk and LDAP users enabled.
