    <description>&lt;P&gt;The appropriate way would be to install a Universal Forwarder on the hosts you want to read data from. You say that it's "too much" to install forwarders on all hosts - why is that? What issues are you seeing with that?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;For example, i have two hosts.&lt;BR /&gt;
The data is in host1.&lt;BR /&gt;
Now the host2 need recived data, wheather i can send the data to host2 by socket?&lt;BR /&gt;
Syslog or other way?&lt;BR /&gt;
I wan&lt;CODE&gt;t use splunk forwarder,because i have lots of host1, if i install splunk forwarder in every host1,&lt;BR /&gt;
it&lt;/CODE&gt;s too much.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
