    <description>&lt;P&gt;Typically this can be worked around by running the CMD prompt as an Administrator.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Before clicking "command prompt" from the start menu, right click the icon, and select "run as..." and then "Administrator" (or "Run as administrator", depending on your OS).&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;This should be able to correct you issue, this will probably fix issues with starting Splunk as well.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;
after splunk 5 installation on windows, when i type splunk.exe stop|start | other options i have that output of command is in other windows shell, which is closed at the end of command execution.&lt;BR /&gt;
In this way i can read output for error (typing, server already running etc etc) or ok outpud (pid of splund processes for example).&lt;BR /&gt;
How can i have output in the same shell of command, as in other version of splunk?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
