    <description>&lt;P&gt;I have installed the latest version of the SNMP Modular input, and when I'm entering all of the information necessary I am encountering the following error while trying to save:&lt;BR /&gt;
 &lt;STRONG&gt;Encountered the following error while trying to save: In handler 'snmpif': The script returned with exit status 1.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I figured this out. this means that the script is not able to write to the 'inputs.conf' file. &lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;My solution was to adjust /opt/splunk/etc/apps/snmpmod/inputs.conf manually&lt;/P&gt;
