Is it possible to set the multiple path in forwarder; if so please help. Coz our client is using splunk 5.2 server with 3 forwarder server. He want to include multiple path for similar kind of data pulling.

Already he has define a path at installation for data pulling. Now he want to add another path in same forwarder server.

This document talk about the configuration of the path, but my question is data pulling from multiple path from same forwarder. And data are of same type.

So that it should not effect the existing system, which client is using.

Client has already configured the forwarder 3 month before. Now he want to include one more data pulling path in his forwarder, for similar kind of data. So my question is, would it possible to add one more path in existing system without any disturbance. If so how! hope you understand my query.

I thought I understood it but now I'm not so sure. The document I linked to shows you how to add data inputs through various means. On a forwarder you would do it via the CLI or via a configuration file. The document outlines how to do both. What information are you missing?

Yes Ayn,
1 - Can we add multiple (more then one) instance of data source in CLI (inputs.conf)?
2 - how to add one more instance of data source in configuration file?
3 - If we add one more instance of data source whether it will effect the existing system ? (yes/no)

Yes.

It's as simple as just adding another section, just like you did with the first.

No, except for that obviously the forwarder will now monitor one more data source.
