how to add search heads to licensing pool

Hi all
how can i add splunk search heads to defalut license pool auto_generated_license pool i have already added the peers (indexers)
i have the search head deployer and license master on the same server. i cant see any licensing option when i check the settings option in search head ?? how can i configure the license on search head

are you logged in as admin???

If you are on the Searchhead, you can go to settings> licensing and it should show you that the searchhead is acting as master. It should also confirm you are set up using an enterprise license group.

If you've Search Head Cluster deployed, then only the Knowledge Objects menus are visible in settings, other options like Licensing will be hidden. If you login as Administrator, you'll see a button "Show Settings" when you go to Settings menu, click on that and you'd see the full setting options/Licensing option.

if its SHC, would it not be Deployer?

Depends upon how you've distributing your configuration across SHC members. If you send configuration (and license setting you can/should send from Deployer) throught deployer, update the files in deployer, else if you do on individual members, use web UI.

Hi Mmodestino

Thanks for the suggestion i did the same as you mentioned and enabled the license on search head but i couldn't find the the search head in the default pool moreover i can see the indexes and not the search heads

Note :- im using a 10GB dev license for distributed deployment in dev enivronment is there a possibility because of dev environment iam not able to see the search heads in the default license pool
