Error while deploying an app from the deployer

Hi,

I'm getting the below error while deploying an app from the deployer

/opt/SP/apps/splunk/bin $ ./splunk apply shcluster-bundle -target https://:8089
Warning: Depending on the configuration changes being pushed, this command might initiate a rolling restart of the cluster members. Please refer to the documentation for the details. Do you wish to continue? [y/n]: y
Error while deploying apps to first member: Error while updating app=xyz on target=https://:8089: Non-200/201 status_code=404; {"messages":[{"type":"ERROR","text":"Application does not exist: "}]}

Pls suggest

Does the app which exist on your Deployer ($SPLUNK_HOME/etc/shcluster/apps/AppNameHere) has correct permissions for Splunk user?

Your target server is missing from your command or have you redacted it?

Hi shraddhamuduli, you may want to check out how an existing splunk user fixed his own issue with this splunk answers solution. As you can see, he was able to identify several issues with .conf file stanzas by installing the app on a splunk server first and running a reboot.

Hey shraddhamudulli,

To push the app from the deployer you need to move your app first to $SPLUNK_HOME$/etc/shcluster/apps/ and then use the command $ ./splunk apply shcluster-bundle -target https://:8089.

hi,

the pass4SymmKey in opt/splunk/etc/system/local/server.conf should be same on all instances i.e deployer, sh1, sh2, sh3

it worked for me.
