&lt;P&gt;You may want to check if you can resolve well-known hostnames on your server you are hosting your Splunk instance.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;For instance, "nslookup splunk.com"&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;You may want to check if your /etc/resolv.conf file is correct.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Also, Could you double-check if your computer is connected to the Internet? Seems your Splunk instance encountered error connecting to the server.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;As an alternative, you can go to splunkbase.splunk.com and browse Splunk apps there. Download the apps you want to install from SplunkBase and in Splunk Web, install directly from the app files.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks Mayur. I managed to install by downloading the app from splunkbase.&lt;BR /&gt;
All files seems fine &amp;amp; there is internet connectivity. Any other file needs modification other than server.conf?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
