Splunk license has expired

Okay, so after the 60 days of Enterprise trial my license has expired.

Now, how can I download the perpetual free license? Once I get into the store the only things I find require a payment, and the you have pricing questions we have answers website doesn't solve anything.

You can change it to Free license which will allow it to use it for free with limited capabilities forever. read about 'Free license' - https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.2.1/Admin/TypesofSplunklicenses

When the Trial license expires, Splunk automatically reverts to the Free license. There is nothing you need to download.

Then, why wouldn't Splunk let me search without commiting any previous violations? This doesn't look automatic at all
