Splunk UF 7 is not supported by Splunk 10. It *may* work, but Splunk won't help you if it doesn't. If you run FIPS 140-3 (when it is available) in Splunk 10 then Splunk UF 7 will NOT work.

While it's not officially supported, the intercompatibility range between UFs and receiving indexers/HFs is quite big and even older UFs generally _should_ work with new Splunk receivers (not all features might be supported though and you might end up not being able to use your httpout output or you might not be able to interact with your deployment server). But there is no official way to download UFs older than 9.1.0 other way than by raising a support ticket (in which case they might ask you what you need it for and they can simply tell you they won't give you that because this combination is not supported; you've been warned YMMV).

Anyway, you are aware that Windows 7 is out of all possible support (including paid extended support), aren't you? Does your company accept risk of running it?

Thank you for your reply, I'm aware that Windows 7 is no longer supported, and I understand the limitations that come with that. I contacted support, and they advised me to write here on the forum for further assistance.
