    <description>&lt;P&gt;Dear Splunk Support Team,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I recently activated a Splunk Enterprise Free Trial on my account, but while exploring the settings, I mistakenly changed the license type from &lt;EM&gt;Enterprise Trial&lt;/EM&gt; to &lt;EM&gt;Free&lt;/EM&gt;. You must install an Enterprise license or switch to Splunk Free.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/admin-manual/10.0/configure-splunk-licenses/about-splunk-free#ariaid-title5" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/admin-manual/10.0/configure-splunk-licenses/about-splunk-free#ariaid-title5&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you’ve installed Splunk on a virtual machine, you can remove the current installation and perform a fresh setup. Doing so will allow you to receive another 60-day Enterprise Trial license.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.splunk.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/313554"&gt;@MIAS07&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You cannot revert back to the Trial license using the UI, however you can modify the server.conf file.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Find and edit the file at $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/system/local/server.conf&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;*REMOVE* the following lines:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;LI-CODE lang="markup"&gt;[license]
