How to achieve Splunk smtp authentication via API Key?

Hi,

Splunk now authenticates to the mail server with user/pass. Is it possible to configure splunk smtp authentication via API Key?

I check Settings --> Server Settings --> Email settings --> Mail Server Settings and the only option I see is user/pass authentication.

Username and password is the only authentication method currently supported. Go to https://ideas.splunk.com to suggest an alternative.
