All,

Our storage team states that a service account with api-* isn't acceptable. can someone tell me the specific rights it needs so we are not giving it global rights?

I'm glad that you have a storage team who is paying attention. 🙂 This is actually addressed in the NetApp app docs (which isn't available to the public quite yet), but I'll paste:

Create a user with read-only permissions

To create a read-only user account for use with the Splunk App for NetApp, follow the instructions in this NetApp KB article: "How to create a read only user to monitor a filer in DataFabric Manager (DFM) and Performance Advisor"

Hi,

The Netapp KB article specifies different versions of DFM and the different API capabilities needed. Which one should should we follow?

Or even better, can you make the Netapp app documentation publicly available and provide the required roles for a read-only account that grant sufficient access for all aspects of the Netapp app to work?
