How to setup/configure application logs ?

Hi there,

Can someone show me with an example on how to configure(setup) application logs on splunk.
I want to get all my application logs on to splunk.
Please show me with full path on how to browser on splunk page , and configure this.

Actually I had a task in my project asking to setup server log file ( example : /home/tomcat/logs/instance.log) on splunk page , so that developers can check the logs on splunk itself instead of doing it on server level.

My recommendation stands - you should take the Splunk tutorial, so you grow familiar with Splunk's main capabilities. After that, if you have further questions on specific tasks, you're welcome to come back and ask them - I'm sure we can help you with specific issues like that.

Agree with Ayn to start with the documentation (getting started), once you've have read the tutorial, you'll see you need to setup a file monitor input to read your logs.
