Hey 🙂

Is there any way to use the Missile Map in Offline Mode ?
Our Splunk is not connected to the Internet, so it is not loading the Map.

Thanks in advance !

Splunk should publish it's own internal map tiles at:

https:///en-GB/splunkd/__raw/services/mbtiles/splunk-tiles/{z}/{x}/{y}

Or something very similar. You could try this as the "Custom tile set" within Missile Map?

x2, I've got this on an internet connected setup working, but on air-gapped private IP networks the missile app selection in the map drop down isn't there.
Is there a dependancy that requires an internet connection? Because even if the private IPs are not in the geobin DB there should still be the option to select missile app in the webUI correct? My plan was to address the privateIP to lat/lon via lookup table but first get the app and search string somewhat working/showing results.

The viz just needs a valid lat/lon, and does not care whether these are retrieved from the geolocate DB or via any other method.

The currently published version contains an option to use Splunk internal maps for the map tiles. This option uses the map tiles published by Splunkweb and do not require an internet connection.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm facing the same issue. When using Missile Map, I get the lines but not the map (I just see a bunch of lines over a grey background). I'm also on a private network not connected to the Internet.

How do I get Missile Map to use the Splunk internal maps instead?

Thanks!

It doesn't appear as if anything should have changed for Splunk 8+: If you select "Splunk (offline)" as the tile set option, it should populate just using the internal maps that Splunk provides. I've just tested this on Splunk 8.0.1 without issue.

I'm only seeing "Light", "Dark", "Satellite" and "Open Street Map" in the dropdown list for the Tile Set option. Should I also be seeing "Splunk (offline)"? I'm using Splunk 7.1.
