      <description>&lt;P&gt;Looks like your port 8000 is used by some other application. Try accessing splunk on a different port. Worked for me when changed to 8001. Restart not required.&lt;BR /&gt;
Look for file web.conf  under Splunk/etc/system/default&lt;/P&gt;</description>
