&lt;P&gt;To install just untar it to SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps (or upload from the GUI) and restart Splunk.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Login to SplunkWeb and browse to &lt;CODE&gt;Manager&lt;/CODE&gt; -&amp;gt; &lt;CODE&gt;Data Inputs&lt;/CODE&gt; -&amp;gt; &lt;CODE&gt;SNMP&lt;/CODE&gt; -&amp;gt; &lt;CODE&gt;New&lt;/CODE&gt; and setup your input stanza to either poll attribute values or catch traps.
