&lt;P&gt;Check out the reply from peter.payne that starts with this: "&lt;SPAN&gt;So what I &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;keep&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; forgetting (because this is the first application I've ever encountered this behaviour) is that &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;all&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; AppDynamics agents (Java, Machine, and Apache) assume that the configuration files are located in a directory relative to the location of the agent (or, in this case, SDK) binary (be it a .jar or .so)."&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;He then goes on to explain his solution. Please let me know if this helps.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
