Error in installing controller

Hi,

I am installing AppDynamiics 3.8 on Windows 2003 server I am getting Installation Time out Error.The default value for time out is 30 where the installer suggesting to increase it.Please somebody help me to increase the time out value and help me to resolve this issue.

Hi Prathamesh,

Can you try restartig the installer with following args as listed below:

cmd> (make sure you opened cmd prompt window as administrator)

cmd> controller.exe -Vad-timeout-in-min=<Controller_timeout> -Vstartup-timeout-in-min=<database_timeout>

Ex:

cmd> controller.exe -Vad-timeout-in-min=40 -Vstartup-timeout-in-min=20

If issue still persists please provide the following to debug further:

- error you see if any during installation , i understood it is timeout we would like to see exact error message here

- any in4j logs if available we should see installer logs under c:\users\<username>\temp path

- if installation succeeded but failed to start provide server.log and database.log if exists.

- please check whether controller is meeting system requirements and try using small profile and see how it goes.

Hi,

Is it possible to this in Linux as well? If so, what are the extra flags I can give the installer?

Having issues upgrading my server similar to the first poster.

Hi Mikael,

We see the args we listed are generic and is applicable to Linux as well, It would be great if you send the screenshot for error you see for upgrade case if restarting installer with above args does not help, Also attach the install.log and and logs/database.log and logs/server.log under <controller_install_dir> to assist you better.
