    <description>&lt;P&gt;Team,&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I've installed Splunk Enterprise free version in my machine since i am learning splunk,  installation was successful but getting error whevever i launch spulnk.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;===========&lt;BR /&gt;
Splunk&amp;gt; Another one.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Checking prerequisites...&lt;BR /&gt;
    Checking http port [8001]: open&lt;BR /&gt;
    Checking mgmt port [8080]: open&lt;BR /&gt;
Appserver port 8001 conflicts with http port.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;H1&gt;Would you like to change ports? [y/n]: &lt;/H1&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I also, tried to cheange the port but did not help me, could you please help me here.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

it seems like you have another instance that uses port 8001, check using &lt;CODE&gt;netstat -lntu&lt;/CODE&gt; command.&lt;BR /&gt;
did you installed over another Splunk installation?&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Yes, it was second time installation , due to some issue i had to uninstall and install it again. I've started getting such error after second  installation.&lt;BR /&gt;
Well, restart the laptop helped me and it's wokring fine now.&lt;/P&gt;
