Try this:

http://localhost:8000

If that doesn't work, make sure not to be running either
selinux
or
iptables
.
If that doesn't work, check to see if you have more than 1 NIC; splunk will attach only the eht0, unless you force it to connect to another NIC.

Hi,
I just installed Splunk Enterprise 6.5.1 on Ubuntu 12.04, but after I start splunk from shell, and go to this

The Splunk web interface is at http://myPC:8000

I see only a blank page with different browsers (firefox, chromium, epiphany).

What can i do?

Hi criferr,

Maybe not the best answer, but check the
Inspect
feature of your browsers on the page to see if you get anything at all or not. I can re-call that there once was trouble related ad-blockers blocking the latest versions of some Splunk
js
leading to a blank or grey screen.
Also, check the Splunk Web logs if you see any errors related to your access troubles.

Hope this helps ...

cheers, MuS

You should look at Splunks internal logs at

SPLUNK_HOME/var/log/splunk/splunkd.log

This will tell you what is causing the error
