      <title>AD Authentication and Machine join domain</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would like to know if it is mandatory for the Splunk server be a domain member server (joined domain) in order to use AD for LDAP authentication for Splunk Web?&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;i.e. Can I use AD LDAP authentication on a non domain server?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes you can use AD LDAP authentication on a non domain server.  The AD bind account that you set up will be the account that connects to your AD to authenticate users.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
