    <description>&lt;P&gt;To reset the admin password you will need to have access to the file system:&lt;BR /&gt;
- move the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/passwd file to passwd.bak&lt;BR /&gt;
- restart splunk. After the restart you should be able to login using the default login (admin/changeme).&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If you created other user accounts, copy those entries from the backup file into the new passwd file and restart splunk. &lt;BR /&gt;
or &lt;BR /&gt;
try like this :&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Whoops, I accidentally lost the admin password to the Splunk Cloud Free Sandbox that I'm trying out. Doh!&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I don't see any reset-password feature at the sandbox login page&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I surely hope there's something I can do to reset it or recreate the sandbox entirely (its empty).&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I only have my splunk.com login details, which wont let me remove the sandbox, change its password or do anything at all to solve this.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm not sure you can do a password reset with the online sandbox, but the &lt;A href="http://www.splunk.com/view/SP-CAAAM3U"&gt;Online Sandbox FAQ&lt;/A&gt; says:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I cannot access my Splunk Online Sandbox, but my 15 days are not up. What do I do?&lt;/STRONG&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;
You can request a new sandbox if your sandbox becomes unavailable. If a sandbox becomes unavailable during the 15-day term due to circumstances beyond your control, it will not be not counted against your total number of sandboxes.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;So your best bet is to use &lt;A href="https://www.splunk.com/goto/onlinesandbox_help"&gt;the online sandbox help form&lt;/A&gt; and make your request there.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
