Process to create a certificate using Microsoft Certificate Services locally then adding to Splunk

We have a Splunk installation which when opening in the browser we get a certificate error, what is the process to prevent the certificate error if we create a certificate using Microsoft Certificate Services locally installed on the server then adding to Splunk also on the same server?

is the certificate authority you'll use to sign the certificate already imported into the client browsers ? if not, you'll still get an error.

No we have not created or imported any certs yet, we are creating the certs on the server itself

There's some information about setting up signed certs for Splunk Web in the docs that might be helpful:

Sounds like you already have a preferred method for obtaining your certificates, but there's also some info about that here:
