What is new Splunk admin password?

Hi - I just installed Splunk latest version 7.3.2. It went well, but from the website, I can't login with admin/changeme as in the older versions. Anyone knows what is the new admin password or how to reset it?

There is no longer a default password, you need to set one when you first run Splunk.

Refer to https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.3.2/Installation/StartSplunkforthefirsttime for details on setting the password, and what you can do if if wasn't set at install time.

i just installed splunk and the password/username works fine for loggings

but when i try installing add ons it tell me ''Incorrect username or password"

is there a second password ???

Possible Fix: Go to splunk.com or splunkbase and login, view profile, and then you can see your username. It is probable that the username is different than you remember. This was the case for me.

note. i couldn't figure out how to delete the comment, so i modified it, hope it's helpful for someone

When you're trying to install apps from Splunkbase it asks for your splunk.com user so that you Splunk can pull the app from there. It has nothing to do with your local users.
