An error occurred while rendering the page template. See web_service.log for more details

I'm getting this message as well. It started when I created a user, and my own role for that user. There is something in the role that is causing the user login to display this error.

I reset my browser (history, cookies, everything), go back to my Splunk server, so I can see the login page. Then log in as an Admin and change the role that I assigned to my created user.

I found capability that needs to be assigned with the role. rest_properties_get. Make sure that is added to the role.
